Happy Birthday Tiffany

Today is my daughter Tiffany’s 31st birthday, and it seems like it was only yesterday that I was strapping her car seat into the back seat of my Lincoln Town Car to take her home from the hospital. Now she’s a grown woman with two little girls of her own. Where do the years go? Happy birthday, Tiff, I love you very much.

I also want to send out a belated birthday greeting to my daughter-in-law, Geli, whose birthday was yesterday. I hope you and Travis had a good day.

Yesterday I uploaded the new issue of the Gypsy Journal to our printer’s webserver and then I sent out links to our new digital issue to our subscribers. I’m glad to have this one behind me, but it may take a day or two for my arthritic hands to recover. It’s getting worse all the time and I need to talk to my doctor about it when I have my annual checkup at the VA hospital in Tucson next month.

Our month here at Patio Gardens ends on Wednesday and we have to decide what we’re going to do. We need to be in this area for a couple more weeks to get the new issue back from the printer and mailed out before we head for Tucson.

We can extend here, but it’s not cheap. Greg and Jan White are staying at a place called Countryside RV Resort, a couple of miles east of here, and are only paying $3/day, which includes 50 amp electricity, under their Thousand Trails membership. Since it seems like every membership is different, I’m not sure if we can get the same deal or not. I will call the main office this morning to find out. If so, it will be well worth moving. If not, we’ll go to Plan B, once we figure out what the heck that is.

It’s going to be cooler this week, but very windy on Tuesday. I’ve been wanting to break out our Orion smoker and have Miss Terry make some of her delicious ribs, and now that the paper is done, if the weather cooperates, we might do that.

We love our Orion; it fits easily in one of our basement storage bays, it’s simple and easy to use, and since it cooks by convection it will make up three full racks of baby back ribs or a pork butt in just over an hour! YummyImage may be NSFW.

I mentioned a couple of days ago that Barnes & Noble finally approved my account, and I have uploaded two of my mystery books, Big Lake and Big Lake Blizzard, to their website for Nook owners. I plan to get the other two books in the series uploaded this week.

And now that the paper is done I can get back to work on my next book, which I’m looking forward to!

Thought For The Day – It’s never too late to live happily ever after.
